is an abstract move often utilising z-space
. A pipe invariably takes the form of an arc between two stations (current and destination), centred upon a third (the pivot
). The effective distance between current station and pivot is found by dividing the current overall line velocity
by the player's token
weighting; the destination point may be extended, retracted and distorted depending on the proximity to high gravitational attractors and sinkholes. Piping between stations is expensive, but allows much greater scope in a move; and it is almost always cheaper than the same move involving above-ground transport. The major drawback is that it often leaves the player exposed to aggresive drivebacks
and power failure; caution is advised.
