Hasi Calume

Hasi Calume is the Emporer of Kalchichi, and has been for many centuries now, having lived much longer than what is expected from a kobold. He has fathered many children over the years, and people still keep track of who would be the rightfull ruler should he die, but this is mostly a formality. No-one expects him to pass on any time soon, and anybody ambitious enough to try and hasten his demise tend to disappear. The current theoretical heir is Markin Calume, Hasi son from his previous wife.

While the reasons for Hasi's longevity are unclear, most other aspects of his life are clear. He ascended to the throne when his father, Hungi Calume, died fighting against the Malkin.

Shortly after his coronation, he met Retchan of Jiyank for the first time, and long with Gunzer Talkchi helped to create the unsucesfull Zaphor Gateway and then oversaw Kalchichi's armies adoption of gun powder weapons. It was Hasi's insight into the tactics of war that made those warriors so often victorious.

Hasi himself is regarded as a genius by many, both because of his success at war and also his ability to inspire the citizens of Kalchichi and shape their will to his own. Others have accused him of being paranoid and xenophobic. Both opinions carry a certain amount of truth.

Hasi's relationship with the other members of the Zaphor Triad has decayed, for reasons unknown. He has passed laws unfavorable to Talkchi's busines interests and done everythig in his power to cut back on the political power of the charismatic Retchan. His willingness to promote Coruvian Wizardly inside Kalchichi is at least in part motivated by this.
