"Far far back in time, when man still shaped stone to kill beasts, one tribe of men rose up to smote an other tribe with thrir stone spears and clubs. Of this last, only one boy child survived under the bodies of his own family. He hid till all had left. Twelve time the sun set and twelve time the moon rose and still the boy lived, eating the bodies of those he had once loved. On the 13th day a Kobold shamen came upon the boy and tuck him unto himself and raised him as his own."

The above is an extract from the book of Eternity. This book is claimed by the undead preasthood to tell the life story of the lich king. Some even claim that he himself wrote it. It is the only writen account of his early life known. It goes on to tell how the kobold found that the boy had the gift of magic in his blood but that it was tainted by his early experances.

" As the shamen summoned the wind to call for rain to make the cropes grow, blessing the child to grow strong and bringing good luck to the peacefull kobold. Only death and decay would do my biding, crops would wither and the earth would give up its dead."

The legends of his life are numerous. Some of them are probably, true but others seem too far fetched even for a creature like the Lich King.
