Sylvanmoon

I wasn't too happy with the first chunk of their back story, so I re-wrote it a bit, after all anything can be made better with zombies...
Or indeed bunnies.
The tale of how Tavis Sylvanmoon came to adventure with the Heroes of the Vale is entwined with that of Tiernan, his identical twin brother. The siblings don’t originate from Krynn, and they don’t speak much of either why left their home or why they have no desire to return.
From they have said, it is believed that their world was over-run by some form of undead horde (or as Firken insists they told him - giant carnivorous bunnies…) They were either attempting to either defeat this enemy or escape their world as a lost cause when they got pulled into Ravenloft (presumably these zombies [or bunnies] had some form of tie to the Demi-Plane of Dread that made travel there easy)
For over a year they travelled around Ravenloft together, but in the tense environment cracks in their relationship began to show, with Tavis always wanting to play the hero, and Tiernan (normally the first to joke about being “the evil twin”) tending to be rather more amoral. After one huge row they went their separate ways and wouldn’t see each other for another few years.
Tavis ended up roaming the land of Ravenloft, moving from settlement to settlement until he found a relatively safe town where he settled down for a good few months. He was enjoying a glass of reasonably pleasant wine in the local tavern when he was sure he heard someone mention the name Tiernan. Scouting out the faces in the bar to see who had mentioned his brother’s name he easily spotted a group of unlikely companions who were staring right at him. As they approached he heard one of them say “…I’m sure its him. From the Whistling Fish.”
It transpired that his brother had ended up on these adventurers home plane (possibly via some tie to Ravenloft in their home region) and was a regular in their local tavern (Tiernan reportedly liking the place as it made everyone seem small, not just him…). Wishing to make up his differences with his sibling and for an escape from Ravenloft, he enquired whether he could join them. They agreed to help him reunite with his brother as they were seeking a way back home anyway.
He impressed his new companions with his swordsmanship throughout their adventures, and made close friends with the two in the party who were of similar stature to himself - Firken Greenberry & Bobby Bobblenob. When they eventually found their way home he sought out his brother and they put any past squabbles behind them and set up a small but very effective mercenary band. They have kept close ties with their friends in the Heroes of the Vale, particularly Firken and Bobby, who have both joined the Sylvanmoon’s group on a number of missions.
(Oh, and if I ever return to playing a Sylvanmoon I think it would be the "evil-twin" one that I play rather then the goody-two-shoes one. He was a bit dull.)
