The deck of many things is a powerful and possibly cursed magic item that spins the disc of weal and woe every time someone is foolish enough to pick a card from the pack. Who would be daft enough to take a chance on these things? Well, half the heros of the vale! Several of them payed the price.

Smith wound up being chased by an enraged demon which has tride to rush the life from him on several occations. Previously, it had only been interested in killing one of his travelling companions.

Pez found the sign of the medusa, and has been fearful of petrification ever since.

Did any body find anything useful amongst the soul rending horror? Not as I recall.
