Puzzle: Repetition
« on: December 28, 2008, 04:08:44 PM »

My first post on the forum, and first puzzle that I consider worthy of postage.

"Repetition"
kovutab

My Solution:
dacopig
EDIT: Whoops, forgot to put the targets in the solution.

If anyone asks, I have no clue how that solution works, it just does. I discovered the phenomenon before making the puzzle. I wanted to see if any of you could make more understandable solutions.

Does dacopig ever get to a permanent solved state?

I liked JF's solution, particularly for the imagefirst gate changing from 1 to 0 after the 2nd crate, and image0-7=9; which fact didn't occur to me.

Edit: fixed typo.

This looks like a job for my favorite reprogrammable solution.

That is the most ingenious method of solving an impossible puzzle that I have ever seen.

Just noticed that I accidentally erased the copier for my 38-tick solution. 39-tick solution: sesahan
Edit: 29-tick solution: pelokib
Edit #2: 27-tick solution: tyratod

22 ticks: pigyhot

Edit:
20 ticks: gacegip
19 ticks would be possible if I could make a smaller machine.
